Moguli

Terms of Use

Last updated September 23, 2026

These terms are the deal between you and Moguli. We kept them as short as a real estate contract never is.

Moguli ("Moguli", "we", "us") is an independent study app made in California. By using the Moguli app or website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Moguli.

Not legal advice. Moguli teaches for an exam. It does not give legal, tax, or real estate advice about any real situation. For a real transaction, talk to a licensed professional or an attorney.

Not a DRE-approved course. Moguli is exam prep and study notes for the California salesperson exam. It is not a course approved by the California Department of Real Estate, nothing in it counts toward the education required for a license, and it issues no certificates. You still need your three 45-hour courses from a DRE-approved school. Moguli is not affiliated with or endorsed by the DRE.

1. Who can use Moguli

You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and make any purchase. The California license itself requires you to be 18.

2. What you get

Moguli gives you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app and its content for your own studying. You may not copy, resell, republish, or scrape the questions, the Book's notes, recordings, characters, or artwork, or use them to build another product.

3. Early days

Moguli is new. Features may change, and progress might occasionally be lost. Study progress lives on your phone unless you sign in, so keep a backup from File → This device if it matters to you.

4. Accuracy, and no guarantee you'll pass

We work hard to keep every question and every page of the Book correct and current, but laws and regulations change, and mistakes happen. Moguli's content is educational and is provided "as is". We don't guarantee that you'll pass the exam, get a license, or earn anything once you do. That part is on you. If you find a mistake, tap the flag on the answer sheet or email us.

5. Purchases

The daily exam quiz, the Book (Bones's study notes) and the first case of Material Facts are free. Moguli Plus is a subscription, US $14.99 a month, that opens both daily quizzes, drills by category and by page of the Book, the Hearing (full practice exams), and the rest of Material Facts, the story mode. It renews each month until you cancel; cancelling keeps Plus open until the end of the period you've paid for, and nothing is refunded for the rest of that month unless the law requires it. In the iPhone app, Plus is bought through the App Store: payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation, the subscription renews automatically unless you turn auto-renew off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, you manage it in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, and Apple's terms govern billing and refunds, which you can request at reportaproblem.apple.com. On the web, payment is taken by Stripe and you cancel under File → Account → Manage subscription. In both places the price, what it includes, and the renewal are shown before you pay. Moguli sells no course, course final, or certificate.

6. Using it fairly

Don't break or overload Moguli, get around its limits, or use another person's profile to change their progress.

7. Ending things

You can stop using Moguli at any time and ask us to delete your information (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend access for anyone who breaks these terms, and we may change or discontinue Moguli. If we discontinue a paid feature, we'll handle refunds as the law requires.

8. Disclaimers and limits

To the extent the law allows, Moguli is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Moguli in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

9. Law and disputes

California law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in California, unless the law where you live gives you a different right. Please email us first; most things can be fixed without a lawyer.

10. If you got Moguli from the App Store

These terms are between you and Moguli only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Moguli or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. If Moguli fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Moguli, not Apple, is responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, failure to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes someone's intellectual property. You confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use Moguli, such as your mobile carrier's. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes

If we change these terms, the date at the top will change. We'll tell you in the app before a change that matters takes effect. If you keep using Moguli after that, you accept the new terms.
